The U.K. Parliament will host the NATO Parliamentary Assembly’s 55th Annual Session from Nov. 13-17, bringing together in Edinburgh, United Kingdom, some 340 parliamentarians from the 28 NATO member countries from North America and Europe as well as delegates from partner countries and observers to discuss security issues of common concern to all countries.
The President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly is U.S. Rep. John Tanner (D-Tenn.).
NATO PA’s five committees will hold meetings: the Political, Defence and Security; Science and Technology; Civil Dimension of Security; and Economics and Security. Each Committee will discuss reports and hear from guest speakers.
The Plenary session Nov. 17 will feature keynote addresses from Tanner, NATO Secretary General, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, The U.K.’s Rt Hon. David Miliband MP, Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, former NATO Secretary General, Lord Robertson of Port Ellen and Supreme Allied Commander Europe, U.S. Adm. James Stavridis.
