“Orbital ATK has been serving the needs of Saudi Arabia for many years,” Mike Kahn, president of Orbital ATK’s Defense Group, said in a statement. “This new Saudi company reflects our long-term commitment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a strong ally of the United States.”

Orbital ATK said the new subsidiary, Alliant Techsystems Operations LTD, will work in partnership with local Saudi industry to develop indigenous capabilities.

“Saudi Arabia is strategically important to Orbital ATK,” Amer Kayani, chairman of the Board of Managers for the new subsidiary, said in a statement. “Our team in the Kingdom is committed to working with the Saudi government and other local partners to develop business opportunities that sustain long-term jobs for Saudi nationals in the defense and security sectors.”
