Northrop Grumman [NOC] has upgraded the software for the Army’s battle command system for air and missile defense, the company said recently.

Northrop Grumman said it has released version 2.0 for the Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) that effectively fuses both missions with enhanced capabilities.

The new software improves interfaces with the Patriot weapons system, Sentinal radar and Link 16 communications network.

The upgrades came about three years after beginning warfighter experiments seeking feedback from air defense soldiers and incorporating it into the latest version.
