The Marine Corps has field evaluated RedXDefense‘s XPAK-I explosives detection system with the Royal Thai military as part of the Crimson Viper Experiment, RedX says. The XPAK-I, which has GPS data logging capabilities, allows operators to collect and analyze trace explosives data over a wide target area, record samples with a barcode and GPS data, preserve samples for further forensics, and suing the XPAK Spotlight software, download data and map it quickly to identify patterns of activity or hot zones. RedX said that additional field data in the operational environment in Thailand will be collected and that a re-evaluation is slated under Exercise Cobra Gold next year.
