Lockheed Martin [LMT] has received a $41 million contract from the U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) to extend sustainment on the Global Transportation Network (GTN) command and control system, brining the total value of the contract to $475 million since its award in 1995. Under the contract Lockheed Martin will continue to operate and maintain the GTN, identify and resolve system operational issues, analyze user requirements, and support worldwide user operations. The GTN is a web-based, automated information system that provides a family of transportation users and service providers, both in the U.S. Defense Department and commercial sectors, with near real-time in-transit visibility and command and control capabilities.
