SAIC Inc. [ SAI] yesterday said President and CEO John Jumper has been elected Chair of the SAIC Board of Directors, effective June 15.
Jumper succeeds A. Thomas Young, who will continue to serve on the Board as an independent director.
On March 1, Jumper succeeded Walt Havenstein as SAIC CEO (Defense Daily, Feb. 22). At that time Jumper was a member of the company board of directors and former chief of staff of the Air Force.
The Board also appointed Lawrence Nussdorf, an independent director, to serve as Lead Director. Since 1988 Nussdorf has been president and chief operating officer of Clark Enterprises Inc., a privately held real estate, construction and investment company, whose interests include Clark Construction Group, LLC, a general contracting company. He also serves on the Board of Pepco Holdings Inc., where he previously served as Lead Independent Director.
