The private equity firm J.F. Lehman & Company yesterday said it has acquired the aviation services company Doss Aviation, Inc., adding to its portfolio in the defense and aerospace sectors.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Doss, which is based in Colorado, supports DoD and other government customers with initial flight screening and training of traditional fixed-wing and unmanned aircraft system aircrews, aircraft maintenance, and airfield and base logistics at military installations globally. The company has 500 full-time employees.

“As a firm focused on the defense and aerospace markets, J.F. Lehman will augment our team with a group of experienced investment professionals and industry experts with a proven track record of creating value by helping its portfolio companies meet their goals for growth and profitability,” Ken Smith, president and CEO of Doss, said in a statement.
