The Navy recently awarded General Dynamics [GD] Electric Boat a $16.6 million contract to support nuclear aircraft carrier repair work at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, Va., the company said.
Under the terms of the contract, Electric Boat will provide about 100 skilled trades workers to perform maintenance and repair work on USS Truman (CVN-75) and USS
George W. Bush (CVN-77) to be completed by July 2012, according to the company. The work will also engage Electric Boat’s operations and support organization in Groton, Conn.
