The State Grid General Aviation Company (SGGAC), China’s largest helicopter operators, has purchased Eurocopter’s EC 225 and two AS350 B3e helicopters to support the country’s growing electrical grid.
SGGAC will use the additions to expand its grid support business to include aerial survey, emergency rescue, passenger and freight transportation, infrastructure construction and scientific experimentation, according to a release from Eurocopter.
Eurocopter will deliver the AS350 B3e’s late this year for power line survey and transportation missions. SGGAC will receive the EC 225 in 2015 for multi-role missions, including emergency rescue.
Eurocopter has acted as the major aircraft service provider for multiple years, according to the company.
