The Defense Department’s Rapid Reaction Technology Office is looking three types of battlefield forensic items including a Multi-Test Kit, a Sensitive Site Exploration Documentation Device and a Digital Image Device. The Multi-Test Kit would be compact, rugged and easy to use for testing for the presence of 29 explosives compounds, five classes of drugs and three heavy metals. The Sensitive Site Exploration Documentation Device would integrate the functions of a cameral, digital tape recorder, distance measuring devices, label printer, GPS locator, and control software in a single compact device. The Digital Image Device interrogates cell phones to determine the origin of any stored images. The Rapid Response Technology Office, using the DefenseSolutions.Gov Web site, plans to fund the best ideas quickly using flexible agreements. Entries are free and submitted electronically. Sol.
