DNDO Seeks Replacement Neutron Detector Modules for He-3 RPMs

The Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO) is seeking replacement neutron detection modules for the Helium-3 (He-3)-based neutron detectors for Radiation Portal Monitors (RPMs). The solicitation is solely for the development of near-term commercially available neutron detection modules for RPMs using technologies other than He-3. DNDO issues a similar notice in the spring (TR2, May 12). The agency is facing a shortage of the gas and is currently seeking both alternative sources of supply for He-3 as well as alternative materials…
