DHS Awards Six Contracts for EAGLE II IV&V Unrestricted Track
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has awarded contract to six companies under the independent test, validation, verification and evaluation (IV&V) unrestricted track for the EAGLE II Information Technology Support Services program that is worth up to $22 billion over seven years. The selected contractors and their awardees include: Pragmatics, Inc., which is teamed with DDL OMNI Engineering, LLC; MAR Inc., which is teamed with Academy Solutions Group, LLC, Convergent Solutions, Inc., Force 3, Inc., and Prometheus Global Corp.; Capgemini Government Solutions, LLC, which is teamed with Information Systems Laboratories, Inc., Modern Technology Solutions, Inc., and The Mason Harriman Group; The Mil Corp.; DCS Corp., which is teamed with AUSGAR Technologies, Inc., Burke Consortium, and Syzygy Technologies; and NTT Data Federal Services, Inc., which is teamed with BSC Systems, Inc., Dynamic Security Concepts, Inc., and GNS, Inc. The contracts have a five-year base ordering period with a two-year option period. The IV&V portion of the program, which is one of the three functional categories of the EAGLE II procurement, will provide solutions to ensure that all information technology products and services meet DHS standards, and are performing to defined design, cost, schedule and performance specifications and capabilities.
JPEO-CBD Makes 70 Awards under $495M Support Program
The Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense (JPEO-CBD) has made 70 awards in six domains under its Omnibus Program, Engineering and Technical Support services contract across its entire enterprise. The ceiling value of the program, including all task orders, is $495 million. The domains and the contractors that were selected to compete follow. FBI Awards GD $42M to Support Computer Forensic Networks
General Dynamics [GD] has received a potential five-year, $42 million task order to provide information technology services to the FBI’s Computer Analysis Response Team Storage Area Network (CARTSAN), The CARTSAN environment provides FBI personnel with the necessary infrastructure to efficiently and effectively acquire, process and present latent digital information contained within physical evidence. GD’s Information Technology business unit will be responsible for maintenance and administrative operations needed to support the Computer Analysis Response Team, Forensic Analysis unit’s forensic networks program and other forensic programs. The company says it is hiring more than 30 employees to support this task order. The award was made under the FBI IT Supplies and Support Services contract, which is an eight-year, $30 billion multiple-award indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract awarded un Oct. 2010 and is available to all Justice Department agencies. This is the fourth task order GD has received under the contract.
AS&E Nabs $25M Integrated Port Security Contract for Abu Dhabi
American Science & Engineering [ASEI] has received a $24.6 million contract to provide an integrated port security system for the megaport of Khalifa, Abu Dhabi. The contract was awarded by Abu Dhabi Customs. Under the contract AS&E will integrate multiple technologies, including its Sentry Portal high throughput cargo and vehicle screening systems, AMETEK, Inc.’s [AME] ORTEC Products Groups Detective Spectroscopic Portal Monitors for radiation detection, and Motorola’s [MOT] Multi-Media Communications lance camera and video management system. The integrated solution is for multiple export and import cargo security lanes. AS&E says it will also provide service, installation and training for all equipment. The new megaport began operations on Sept. 1, 2012. Last June Abu Dhabi Customs awarded the company a contract for its OmniView Gantry and Z Portal Systems to be used at Khalifa.
Coast Guard Awards SAIC Potential $17M for Health Information Support
Science Applications International Corp. [SAI] has received a potential $17 million contract from the Coast Guard to provide services and materials for the operational support of the service’s Integrated Health Information System (IHiS). That task order, which was awarded under the EAGLE Master agreement, has a one-year base period, a one-year option and a nine-month option. The IHiS will support healthcare operations for organizations including the Coast Guard and State Department, and will provide access to beneficiaries from these organizations to their health records. SAIC will provide operational support of the IHiS including information technology services, data center support, system maintenance, failover site operations, security monitoring, help desk support and more.
Coast Guard Awards Honeywell $5M for MH-60T Health Monitoring Systems
Honeywell [HON] has received a $4.8 million contract from the Coast Guard to install health and usage monitoring systems (HUMS) onboard the service’s fleet of MH-60T helicopters. The Coast Guard will use 42 Zing HUMS 1239 aircraft kits and 24 ground support kits, all of which were expected to be delivered by the end of 2012, to monitor critical drive train components such as the helicopters’ rotor shafts, making sure the aircraft are ready to fly at all times. HUMS is a sensor-based monitoring system that enables preventative maintenance by measuring the health and performance of mission-critical components.
Implant Sciences Receives More Orders from Multiple Customers
Implant Sciences [IMSC] has announced a number of new orders for its QS-B220 benchtop and QS-H150 handheld trace detectors from a number of new customers. The company has sold QS-B220 explosives and drug trace detectors to two major European airports, marking three airports in Europe that have ordered the device within the last four months. In a separate award, Implant has shipped 18 QS-H150 handheld devices to an existing customer in China through its in-country distributor, RitchieLink Technology. The units will be used for transportation security. The company has also sold three of the handheld units to a customer in Asia for aviation security. Finally, the company has sold a QS-H150 to a new government customer in Spain for use in critical infrastructure protection. The handheld units are already being used in Spain for the protection of critical infrastructure and seaports, as well as for force protection and aviation security.
Consulting Firm Big Sky a Subcontractor for Work on Army HSPD-12 Effort
The management consulting firm Big Sky Associates says it is a subcontractor to CSC [CSC] under a contract to help the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs to conduct strategic planning to meet Homeland Security Presidential Directive-12, which requires federal agencies to develop a common standard to vet all personnel to protect against terrorist attacks and unknown threats. The policy also seeks to prevent identity fraud and protect secure facilities from unauthorized access. Big Sky will manage the Army’s implementation of the directive, develop methods to measure its progress to compliance and facilitate decision analysis techniques to work through the process.
