DISA Issues RFI for Next-Gen End Point Security System

The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Program Executive Office Mission Assurance has released a Request for Information (RFI) for industry assistance with the development and planning of a potential new requirement and to determine sources with competencies to provide solutions for Next-Generation End Point Security System requirements. DISA also has interest in a management tool that can provide effective management on multiple endpoint Operating Systems for endpoints described in the RFI. The agency is interested in approaches with a product or product family that can mitigate against persistent threats and their common attack patterns. Sol. No. MAC0099. Respond by Feb. 2. DHS Issues RFIs for Portable Biological Identifier and Trigger/Detector

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has issued separate Requests for Information (RFI) for a Portable Biological Identifier (Sol. No. HSHQDC-15-I-11104) and a Biological Trigger/Detector (Sol. No. HSHQDC-15-I-11104) under the BioWatch program. For the Portable Identifier effort, the goal is to determine if there are mature or developing technologies from commercial or interagency sources that can provide a cost-effective portable biological identifier capability to the BioWatch program. The portable identifier is an analytical platform to be used by field or facility personnel for onsite analysis, either surface or aerosol samples. The technology must identify multiple potential biological agents of concern simultaneously within an hour and demonstrate a low rate of false positives and false negatives. For the Trigger/Detector effort, DHS seeks to determine if there are capabilities that can provide a cost-effective trigger/detector technology to BioWatch. Such a capability added to the current sample collection process and used in conjunction with current or future collection and identification technology would serve to reduce the time to detect and improve BioWatch operational performance. The capability must detect indicators of potential biological agents within one minute and transmits results and system status electronically and be controlled remotely. Respond by Jan. 30.
