DNDO Plans One-on-One Industry Engagement Sessions

The Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO) has established a process where industry can request meetings with agency representatives on a first request, first scheduled basis. The Sessions will be limited to one hour and a company cannot meet with DNDO more frequently than every six months. IARPA Interested in Lab-on-a-Chip Biotechnology

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence, Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Agency (IARPA), has issued a Request for Information on Laboratory-on-a-Chip technology for multiplexed bioassay analysis. IARPA says it wants to learn about the current state-of-the-art and challenges in the technology, respondents’ perspectives on and analysis of the maturity of the technology, and to identify organizations that are interested in provided infrastructure support via existing, modified or new lab-on-a-chip platforms. IARPA also says it is interested in the development of portable lab-on-a-chip platforms able to provide simultaneous rapid and reliable detection, analysis, and read-out of chemical and biological exposure omni-omic signatures in less than 10 minutes. The agency is interested in understanding the intelligence value of human physiological changes associated with involvement in chemical and biological weapons manufacture and materials handling reflected through omni-omic signatures. Army Seeks Sources for R&D and Tech Insertion for Biometric and Forensic Intel

The Army has issued a Sources Sought notice for the research, development, test and evaluation, system integration, technology insertion, quick reaction capability procurement, deployment, and operations support for Biometric and Forensic Enabled Intelligence (BFEI) Systems. This effort will support, sustain and optimize designated Biometric Enabled Intelligence (BEI) and Forensic Enabled Intelligence (FEI) systems and build the future capabilities to meet the immediate warfighting needs and to allow the search and exploitation of the high valued adversaries. The proposed efforts will support the geographic and combatant commands to manage biometric enabled watch lists for known and unknown adversaries and to adopt biometric and forensic intelligence capabilities. DHS Plans Industry Day for Cyber Centric Mission Support Services

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Cybersecurity and Communications will host an Industry Day on June 26 in Washington, DC, for its Cyber Centric Mission Support Services requirement. DHS is expected to release a draft request for Proposal for the requirement this month. DHS seeks help with preparing for, preventing and responding to catastrophic incidents that could degrade or overwhelm the nation’s cyber and communications infrastructure. DHS Plans Explosive and Equipment Characterization Pre-Solicitation Conference

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will host a pre-solicitation conference on July 16 in Washington, DC, for its Explosives and Equipment Characterization (EXEC) program. The program consists of three activities, the first of which will begin in FY ’14 to conduct the explosives and characterization at an existing facility at Tyndall AFB, Fla. The second activity is planned to occur in FY ’15 to set up and qualify a new laboratory with similar needs at the Redstone Arsenal (RSA), Ala. DOT Seeks Countermeasures for Hand-Emplaced Attack Methods on Steel Bridges

The Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Highway Administration, is seeking information from research entities to provide capabilities with demonstrated performance and technical capability to provide capability statements in certain areas for consideration in developing future requirements related to countering improvised explosive devices and cutting devices on steel bridges. The scope of the resulting project would include conducting implementation activities and developing research recommendations in the area of bridge vulnerabilities to Hand-Emplaced IEDs and Hand-Emplaced Cutting Devices and counter measures to these. A potential awardee would be required to provide a series of services within the following technical areas: outreach to state and local DOTs; current access control and countermeasure use; assessment of HEIED/HECD mitigation component design and more. TSA Security Office Plans Small Business Industry Day
