TSA Plans RFPs in April for Checked Baggage, Checkpoints Deployment Services
The Transportation Security Administration says it plans to release the Request for Proposal (RFP) in early April for the Security Equipment Deployment Services (SEDS) for checked baggage and the SEDS for checkpoints. TSA Reaches Out to Industry for Help During Pandemic
The Transportation Security Administration issued a notification seeking help related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The notification followed outreach efforts by TSA’s industry partners to multiple government agency points of contact offering assistance related to the coronavirus. CBP Seeks Feedback on Draft Spec for Multirole Enforcement Aircraft
Customs and Border Protection has issued a Request for Information seeking feedback on a draft performance specification for commercially available multi-role enforcement aircraft (MEA) that could be configured to satisfy all or a large portion of its land interdiction missions. The agency also wants information on contractors capable of modifying newly built, commercially available, Federal Aviation Administration-certified multi-engine airplane to a law enforcement equipped MEA by reconfiguring the aircraft and installing a sensor system and sensor consoles, equipped with the capability to display and export all collected imagery. The land interdiction missions will include detecting, locating, classifying, identifying and tracking people moving across the borders between ports of entry, conducting real-time mapping and imagery of infrastructure damage resulting from natural disasters, and supporting federal, state and local law enforcement operations throughout the U.S. Notice ID: AM-RFI-03242020. DHS S&T Plans GPS Equipment Testing for Critical Infrastructure
The Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate this summer will host the 2020 GPS Equipment Testing for Critical Infrastructure (GET-CI) event, a series of annual evaluations intended for manufacturers of commercial GPS equipment used in critical infrastructure as well as critical infrastructure owners and operators. The goal of GET-CI is to increase the resiliency of critical infrastructure to GPS vulnerabilities in the near-term future. Examples of measures that can be taken to enhance resiliency can be found in a DHS issued set of best practices released via the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s ICS-CERT, titled “Improving the Operation and Development of Global Positioning System (GPS) Equipment Used by Critical Infrastructure.” Notice ID: 70RSAT20RFI000007. Coast Guard Seeks Cutter Boat Over-The-Horizon V
The Coast Guard has issued a pre-solicitation seeking small businesses capable of providing up to 197 Cutter Boat Over-The-Horizon V’s that will deploy from National Security Cutters, Offshore Patrol Cutters, Polar Security Cutters, Medium Endurance Cutters, and Fast Response Cutters. The CB-OTH V is a multi-mission craft supporting search and rescue, drug interdiction, alien migrant interdiction operations, living marine resources, other law enforcement, and defense readiness. The Coast Guard plans a two-phase procurement, with Phase One being an evaluation of written proposals and up to four contracts. In Phase Two, the service will conduct in-water evaluations of accepted boats and do a final technical evaluation to down-select to a single contractor.
