Rutgers Univ. has received a $2 million task order from the Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate to provide coordination and facilitation towards the development of a network-centric Information Sharing Environment. The focus of the work is on standards and architecture, security and access, associated privacy protection, and best practices. Rutgers is one of the leads for DHS S&T University Center of Excellence visual and data analytics topic area, referred to as the Center for Visualization and Data Analytics.

Safran Group’s Morpho Detection business has received two task orders worth nearly $1.4 million from the Transportation Security Administration under an existing contract related to CTX 9800 explosive detection systems used to screen checked bags at U.S. airports. A $1.1 million order is for engineering support and a $249,710 task order is to provide baggage handling system tote detection risk assessment.

Leidos [LDOS] has received a $141,082 task order from the Transportation Security Administration to provide technical assistance during test and evaluation of a proof of concept effort on the CT-80DR+ (EDS) explosives detection system. The CT-80 is a reduced-size EDS used for screening checked bags at small and medium-size airports.

The Transportation Security Administration has awarded QinetiQ a potential three-year contract for continued maintenance and support of SPO-NX and SPO-7R passive millimeter wave stand-off threat detection systems. TSA in 2014 awarded QinetiQ a contract for two SPO-NX, an upgraded system from the SPO-7R already used by the agency. TSA continues to evaluate the concealed threat detection technology. The value of the maintenance contract was redacted.

Everbridge Inc., a software company that provides critical communications and enterprise safety applications, on Sept. 21 closed an initial public offering of its stock, raising $69.8 million in proceeds. The company provides a software-as-a-service platform to construct and deliver contextual mass notifications during public safety, terrorist threats and critical business events. The company’s shares trade on the NASDAQ under the stock ticker symbol “EVBG.”
