AREVA Inc. and Northrop Grumman [NOC] have partnered to provide cyber security support for the nuclear industry in response to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s call for commercial nuclear facilities to develop and implement cyber security plans. Northrop Grumman brings its cyber security capabilities and AREVA its experience with regulations and service to the nuclear power industry.
American Science & Engineering [ASEI] has opened a branch office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, marking an expansion of its Middle East operations. The Massachusetts-based company already maintains an office in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. “Our office in Saudi Arabia will enable us to provide more comprehensive service and support to meet the increasing needs of customers in the region, as well as further strengthen our overall global business capabilities,” says Anthony Fabiano, AS&E’s president and CEO.
Implant Sciences [IMSC] has sold a Quantum Sniffer QS-B220 desktop explosive and narcotic trace detection unit to a new distributor in Switzerland. The unit will be used for demonstration purposes. The QS-B220 was introduced last year and is deployed in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas.
SecurityPoint Media is upgrading security checkpoints at Reagan National Airport and Dulles International Airport with its SecureTray system that features advertisements in the passenger divestiture trays as well as a unique tether ID number that is visible to travelers so they can better track their personal items when going through security. SecurityPoint will also install its SecureCarts at the checkpoints for the moving and dispensing of the trays. The company has now delivered the trays to 42 airports.
