Boeing [BA] Defense, Space & Security business yesterday said it signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with two Brazilian companies: MSM Powertrain Ltda. and Pan Metal Industria Metalurgica Ltda.

The MoUs outline plans for each company to explore work opportunities with Boeing and its industry partners in the following areas. For MSM, the opportunities involve logistics services, ground support equipment, and engineering support. For Pan Metal, they include assembly, subsystem installation, machined parts, processing, and heat treatment.

“These companies are recognized for their experience in the aerospace industry,” said Susan Colegrove, regional director of International Strategic Partnerships for Boeing Defense, Space & Security. “Boeing looks forward to developing opportunities that will bring best-value solutions to our customers and support regional economic development objectives for expanded opportunities in the aerospace industry and other sectors.”

The MoUs resulted from a recent tour of companies based in São Bernardo do Campo and throughout the industrial region in the state of São Paulo. Boeing representatives and its Super Hornet industry partners visited businesses throughout the region to assess and match their capabilities with future work-placement opportunities.

MSM and Pan Metal join more than 25 other companies throughout Brazil that Boeing and its industry partners have already identified as potential suppliers.

This enhances Boeing’s industrial participation offer on the F-X2 fighter program, with a focus on identifying near-term opportunities, company officials said.
