BAE Systems on Monday said it has formed a joint venture with the information technology (IT) services company Purisolve, Inc.

to pursue business in the federal market.

The Promoveo Solutions JV grew out of a Small Business Administration mentor-protégé agreement between BAE and Atlanta-based Purisolve, a historically under-utilized business zones certified small business.

The initial focus on Promoveo will be the Department of Treasury, where Purisolve has been providing services for 15 years.

“Promoveo means to move forward,” Al Whitmore, president of BAE Systems’ Intelligence & Security sector, said in a statement. “As the name suggests, with our experience as a leading systems integrator and Purisolve’s expertise in strategic IT support, this JV is poised to provide forward thinking IT services to the federal government.”
