After a skimpy $8.3 million in orders in its first quarter, American Science and Engineering [ASEI] has received two new orders worth a combined $37.5 million for support and X-Ray systems in the second quarter. The largest order, valued at $31.8 million, is from an undisclosed customer to renew service and maintenance for a fleet of the company’s detection systems. A $5.7 million order is fro cargo and parcel X-Ray inspection systems also from an undisclosed client. “With this new order, our client will heighten its checkpoint security with AS&E’s unique cargo and parcel X-Ray systems to screen vehicles, trucks and parcels entering its facilities,” says Anthony Fabiano, president and CEO of AS&E. The latest orders are on top of two others AS&E has announced in the second quarter, one for $2 million and the other for two Z Backscatter Vans, the value of which was not disclosed.
