The Army Research, Development and Engineering Command says it plans to negotiate on a sole source basis with RedXDefense for the company’s XPAK portable explosives detector. RDECOM says it is soliciting for the Rapid Equipping Force, which accomplishes its mission of increasing force capability in three ways: one is to equip operational commanders with off-the-shelf solutions or near-term developmental items that can be acquired quickly; another is to develop and evaluate technologies under operational conditions that can be inserted into operational use; and third is to assess capabilities and advise Army stakeholders of the findings.
