HIMARS is a lightweight mobile rocket launcher, first fielded in 2005, that fires both Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) rockets and Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) missiles.

The company has already produced nearly 500 systems for the Army and international customers, Singapore, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates .

In August, Lockheed Martin received a $218 million deal from Romania to deliver 18 HIMARS launchers (Defense Daily, August 10).

“Lockheed Martin’s effectiveness and reliability combined with performance, interoperability, joint coalition operations and the added value of joint munitions procurement make HIMARS a sound option for nations seeking effective precision fires option for missions,” company officials said in a statement.
