The State Department has approved three foreign military sales (FMS), including a $1.2 billion deal with the Netherlands for support to upgrade 28 AH-64D Block II Apache Attack Helicopters to the AH-64E configuration.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency notified Congress of the proposed FMS on Feb. 20, which includes requests for 51 new engines, seventeen Fire Control Radar, 28 AN/ASQ-170 Modernized Target Acquisition and Designation SightsAN/AAR-11 Modernized Pilot Night Vision Sensors and 70 new GPS systems needed for its Apache helicopter upgrades.

Boeing [BA] and Lockheed Martin [LMT] are the prime contractors for the deal.
