The Department of State has awarded L-1 Identity Solutions [ID] $6.3 million in new purchase orders for passport printers to help the department produce and estimated 22 million passports this year. The new printers are expected to be in operation in June in the Arizona and Arkansas Passport Centers. “These orders demonstrate the continued confidence that the DoS maintains in L-1 as DoS looks to improve efficiency of passport issuance operations as demand for passport production rises to record levels,” says Leo Sullivan, president of the Secure Credentialing Division of L-1.
