TSA to Solicit for Private Screening Services at Punta Gorda Airport

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has issued a pre-solicitation notice for privatized screening services at Punta Gorda Airport in Florida under the Screening Partnership Program (SPP). The planned contract, which will be a small business set aside, will have a one-year base period and four one-year options. TSA plans to host a pre-proposal conference at the airport on Jan. 30. DHS Plans Industry Engagement Event in February

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) plans to host an Industry Engagement Event on Feb. 25 in Washington, DC, to discuss program-specific topics that span multiple components and impact the department’s Unity of Effort initiative. Key topics under consideration include biometrics, data and storage management, and how research and development drive innovation in the federal space. DHS Issues RFI for Business Intelligence Software App

The Department of Homeland Security has issued a Request for Information (RFI) related to business intelligence and data analytics application requirements. DoD Rapid Rx Tech Office Plans Arctic Demo

The Pentagon’s Rapid Reaction Technology Office plans to conduct a Thunderstorm technology demonstration for countering threats transiting through the Arctic pathway. The office has issued a Request for Information soliciting technology demonstration candidates for dealing with threats in the Arctic to include countering chemical and or biological weapons of mass destruction. Thunderstorm provides an opportunity for technology developers to demonstrate new and evolving technological capabilities in an operationally relevant environment, as well as to obtain insight into federal technology gaps and emerging needs. The demonstrations will be conducted in the third quarter of FY ’15 in Hanover, N.H. Some of the capabilities of interest are expeditionary mobile power and energy supplies capable of prolong operations at minus 60 degrees Fahrenheit, low signature small unit mobility platforms capable of prolonged operations at minus 60 degrees Fahrenheit, technologies that would enable the capability to conduct non-compliant Visit, Boarding, Search and Seizure operations in Arctic waters, and technologies and methods that would assist in detecting and or countering the chemical/biological weapons of mass destruction threat in the Arctic pathway. ODNI Issues BAA for Anticipating Worldwide Events in Real-Time

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence, Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Agency has issued a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for research that explores or demonstrates the feasibility of revolutionary concepts that may deliver real-time indications and warning, in context, to support rapid, nuanced understanding by intelligence consumers. Research areas of particular interest include detection and forecasting of emergent phenomena such as novel cyber attack methods or infectious diseases, automated generation and maintenance of taxonomies across multiple facets, analysis and forecasting of rare events such as terrorist attacks, quantitative risk assessments of emerging dual-use technologies, causal inference from observational data, methods for assessing capability and intent to develop weapons of mass destruction, and methods for assessing capability and intent to leverage cyber capabilities against U.S. critical infrastructure. Marine Corps Seeks Biological Warfare Agent Handheld Assay System

The Marine Corps Systems Command is conducting market research for biological warfare agent handheld assay systems and expects to award a contract for 480 of the combat systems and 450 trainer systems by the fourth quarter of FY ’15.  The Marines consider the handheld assay system to consist of the ticket or tickets, buffer solutions, and reader or display. USCIS Plans Contract for DAPA Processing

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has issued a solicitation seeking a help for records support services for Deferred Action for Parents of Citizens and Legal Permanent Residents (DAPA). The procurement follows President Obama’s executive action on DAPA announced in November. USCIS plans to award a contract in March to give the contractor time to hire, train and process security clearances with full performance expected to begin on May 19.
