Telephonics Corp. says it has received approval from Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to begin supplying the Mobile Surveillance Capability (MSC) systems for use on the nation’s southwest border. Late last year CBP awarded Telephonics a potential $45.3 million indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract for the company’s mobile surveillance systems which are used to detect, identify and track items of interest along the United States’ border with Mexico (TR2, Jan. 5). The initial order is for 15 units valued at $12.8 million. Telephonics is a division of Griffon Corp. [GFF]. CBP also awarded FLIR Corp. [FLIR] a potential $101.9 million ID/IQ contract for MSC systems.
