Teledyne Technologies [TDY] said Monday it has acquired the remaining 49 percent interest in the infrared camera firm Nova Sensors that it did not already own.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Teledyne in 2011 acquired a majority stake in Nova, which designs integrated circuits, integrated camera electronics, and manufactures mid-wave and short-wave IR camera systems (Defense Daily, March 21, 2011). Nova primarily sells to original equipment manufacturers mainly for the tactical military market.

Prior to the initial stake in Nova, Teledyne offered a mercury cadmium telluride-based camera in the mid-wave IR market that was expensive. Acquiring Nova gave Teledyne another sensitive mid-wave camera that is less expensive, allowing it to provide customers with more options. The cameras are mainly for the tactical military market.
