IDEMIA Posts Biometric Rally Results
IDEMIA says its facial matching algorithm ranked highest in tests of masked individuals with a score of 99.7 percent in recently published results of the 2021 Department of Homeland Security Biometric Technology Rally. IDEMIA said the high score was for “effectiveness for true identity rate” for unmasked individuals. The testing included masked and unmasked participants and different demographic groups. The company also says that six other matching algorithms achieved the 99 percent “rally true identification rate” goal, all of the using IDEMIA’s camera acquisition system. When IDEMIA’s camera and matching systems were paired, the company’s matching system ranked highest for “effectiveness for true identity rate” for masked and unmasked individuals, averaging 100 percent for successful unmasked captures and over 99.5 percent across all demographic groups tested, the company says. IDEMIA also says its matching algorithm was highly ranked for ease of use with transaction times of less than four seconds and a satisfaction rate above 95 percent.
