TASC Inc. Friday said it has acquired TexelTek, an advanced technology company that provides secure cloud solutions to the U.S. government.

“TexelTek will strengthen TASC’s ability to deliver high demand capabilities and sophisticated thinking to its U.S. government customers across the country,” said David Langstaff, president and CEO of TASC. “We aim to invest in businesses with market-leading capabilities and people who share our values and commitment to the customers’ mission. The TexelTek team meets those criteria, and we are very pleased that they are bringing their expertise to TASC.”

TexelTek expands TASC’s capabilities in cloud computing, network consolidation and virtualization, data analytics and cybersecurity. The company has locations in Maryland, Florida, Colorado, Hawaii and overseas.

“TASC positions us to increase significantly the level of support to our customers and to our nation by leveraging each other’s diverse expertise and strengths through technical innovation and creativity,” said Mark Ross, president and chief executive officer of TexelTek.

Al Pisani, senior vice president for Intelligence Operations at TASC, said, “TexelTek brings important customer relationships to TASC, and boasts exceptional leadership and a seasoned, cleared workforce. At the same time, TASC brings to TexelTek a deep commitment to independent research and development and a complete suite of management and technical training that will enrich the TexelTek workforce and promote career growth. This fusion is a win for TASC, for TexelTek and, most important, for our customers.”
