The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) said it notified Congress Tuesday of possible Foreign Military Sales of F-15SE and F-35 weapons to South Korea worth a total of approximately $1.6 billion.

South Korea wants $823 million in F-15SE aircraft weapons including 274 AIM-120C-7 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM) and six guidance sections; 362 Joint Directed Attach Munitions (JDAM) tail kits (BLU-109/KMU-577C/B/GBU-31); 780 JDAM tail kits (MK-82/BLU-111, KMU572C/B, GBU-31); 170 JDAM tail kits (MK-84/BLU-117, KMU-556C/B, GBU-31); 1,312 FMU-152A/B fuses with FZU-63 initiator; 542 GBU-39/B small diameter bombs (SDB); 170 BLU-117 2000LB general purpose bombs; 362 BLU-109 2000LB penetrators; four BLU-109 inert bombs; 154 AIM-9X-2 (Blk II) tactical missiles with DSU-41; 33 CATM AIM-9X-2 (Blk II) captive air training missiles; seven AIM-9X2 (Blk II) captive air training missile guidance units and 14 AIM-9X-2 (Blk II) tactical guidance units.
South Korea also requested $793 million in F-35 aircraft weapons including 274 AIM-120C-7 AMRAAM and six AIM-120-C-7 AMRAAM guidance sections; 530 JDAM tail kits (BLU-109/KMU-557/C/B, GBU-31); four JDAM BLU-109 load build trainers; six MK-82 filled inert bombs; four BLU-109 inert bombs; 1,312 FMU-152A/B fuzes (FZU-63 initiator); 542 GBU-39/B SDBs; 530 BLU-109 2000LB penetrators; 780 GBU-12 bombs; four GBU-12 dummy trainers; 154 AIM-9X-2 (Blk II) tactical missiles with DSU-41; 33 AIM-9X-2 (Blk II) CATM; seven AIM-9X-2 (Blk II) CATM guidance units and 14 AIM-9X-2 (Blk II) tactical guidance units.
Also included in each proposed sale are containers, missile support and test equipment as well as spare and repair parts.
The deal is contingent on Congress’ approval.
