The Senate Appropriations Committee last week approved a $43.8 billion FY ’11 spending bill for the Department of Homeland Security following the mark-up of the bill by the Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee (Defense Daily, July 16).

The bill must still be approved by the full Senate and agreed to in conference with the House. The House Appropriations Homeland Security Subcommittee marked up its version of the bill last month, providing $43.9 billion for DHS in FY ’11 (Defense Daily, June 25 and 28).
