Raytheon [RTN] on Wednesday said it has completed a 20,000 square-foot expansion of a factory in Mississippi to allow the company to ramp up production of defense systems.
Raytheon said the additional space will allow it to support expected growth in airborne radar and electronic warfare systems.
The test facility is part of a new common test platform the company is deploying for all of its electronic warfare systems, Raytheon said. It added that it plans to add new positions over time to keep up with orders for its Active Electronically Scanned Array fighter jet radars and Sentinel air defense radars.
“We greatly appreciate the longstanding support we’ve received from elected officials and community members here in Forest,” Fred Darlington, a vice president in Raytheon’s Space and Airborne Systems business, said in a statement. The facility is in Forest, Miss.
