Qatar Requests $6.5 Billion Deal For THAAD Fire Units

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) notified Congress of a possible Foreign Military Sale (FMS) to Qatar of two Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) fire units and associate parts and equipment worth an estimated $6.5 billion, according to a DSCA statement. In addition to the two THAAD fire units, Qatar requested 12 THAAD launchers, 150 THAAD interceptors, two THAAD fire control and communications, two AN/TPY-2 THAAD radars, one Early Warning radar (EWR) and associated parts, equipment and support.
