The Department of Homeland Security Office of Health Affairs has issued a Request for Information (RFI) on commercial-off-the-shelf stationary chemical point detection equipment that can be integrated into an underground transit system environment and Ethernet-based network. The equipment could also be mature emerging technologies and prototypes. Some of the desired capabilities include rapid, autonomous detection and identification of multiple targets for a broad range of toxic industrial chemicals and or chemical warfare agents, minimal operator interaction and logistics.
