Northrop Grumman [NOC] has reached a $97 million agreement with the Danish firm Terma A/S for the manufacturing of advanced composites for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.

The agreement covers the production of 34 door, panel, skin assembly and strap composite components through 2019, Northrop Grumman said yesterday.

Northrop Grumman builds the F-35 fuselages for prime contractor Lockheed Martin [LMT]. Northrop Grumman and Terma A/S reached the deal in September.

Terma A/S began supplying parts to Northrop Grumman for the F-35 in 2007.

Northrop Grumman said the two companies have also begun exploring ways to reduce costs and explore additional composite technologies.

The Danish government is a tertiary partner on the F-35 program.
