Gerretson LLC, a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business that will focus on providing the intelligence community and federal civilian agencies with life-cycle approach to information technology (IT) services with an emphasis on secure solutions. The company will be led by Jim Gerretson, who has worked at several companies in the information assurance area, including Affiliated Computer Systems [ACS], Computer Sciences Corp. [CSC], Lockheed Martin [LMT] and Perot Systems [PER]. Gerretson tells TR2 that he believes there will be fewer specific information assurance type awards from the federal government but more contracts where information assurance is a component of the work. He says his firm will work to find partners and to find prime contractor positions for its services. Gerretson believes that when it comes to providing information security, government clients will be looking for firms who make that their niche. Gerretson says that he plans to build on his network of clients and contractors that know and trust him to help build the business. Joining him will be Tom Loveland, CEO of Mind Over Machines, who will serve as president at Gerretson LLC. Loveland will continue in his role at Mind Over Machines and will bring his expertise in application development, along with his business team, to help Gerretson. Mind Over Machines will have a minority stake in Gerretson LLC. Gerretson says that as he takes on work he will be able to add staff who has worked with him previously.
