The U.S. Missile Defense Agency (MDA) has awarded Lockheed Martin [LMT] two contracts totaling $103 million for technology risk reduction work, the Pentagon announced March 9.

One contract, valued at $53 million over three years, is for the future Multi-Object Kill Vehicle, which would allow multiple kill vehicles to be deployed from a single interceptor booster. The other contract, worth $50 million over 30 months, aims to improve the performance of interceptor divert and attitude control systems. lockheed logo
