Lockheed Martin [LMT] recently delivered two KC-130J Super Hercules aerial refueling tankers to Saudi Arabia for use by the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF), the company said Monday.
The KC-130J is the latest in a line of C-130 Hercules tankers. It refuels tactical aircraft, helicopters, and tilt-rotor aircraft. It can also conduct rapid ground refueling of expeditionary forces.
“Our decades-long C-130 partnership with Saudi Arabia continues with the addition of the KC‑130J to the RSAF airlift fleet. We are honored by the Kingdom’s decision to enhance its existing fleet with the proven capabilities and superior performance of the KC-130J Super Hercules,” Christopher Antone, Lockheed Martin vice president of business development for Saudi Arabia, said in a statement.
The company highlighted Saudi Arabia has the largest legacy Hercules fleet outside of the United States and is the 16th country to operate the C-130J for refueling and airlift.
The new KC-130Js were acquired under the U.S. foreign military sales (FMS) program.
