CRGT Inc. recently said it has acquired Guident Technologies, Inc., expanding its presence in the federal civilian information technology (IT) market and providing it with new capabilities.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
CRGT, a portfolio company of the private equity firm Veritas Capital, provides live-cycle IT services and emerging technology solutions to the federal government, including the Defense Department. The purchase of Guident adds the Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Transportation, Patent and Trademark Office and the Securities and Exchange Commission as new federal customers.
The acquisition also provides new capabilities to CRGT in the areas of big data analytics and intelligence solutions.
“Guident adds exciting new capabilities for CRGT in the area of big data that many of our customers are seeking,” Tom Ferrando, president and CEO of CRGT, said in a statement. “The acquisition of Guident will help us provide compelling solutions to manage both structured and unstructured data challenges for our clients, which is the top ranked technology priority within government agencies for 2013.”
In addition to the Defense Department, CRGT’s current customers include the Departments of Justice, Homeland Security, the Postal Service and the Veterans Administration.
