Israel’s second annual International Aerospace Exhibition and Conference next week will include a special panel on aviation cargo security solutions and advances, organizers said on Wednesday.
“In light of recent incidents with explosives in packages originating in Yemen and discovered onboard cargo planes bound to the U.S., this year’s conference will include a panel dedicated to cargo security issue,” conference’s chairman Amnon Ben-David said in a statement. “This year’s conference provides an opportunity to examine in detail existing technological solutions, both tactical and strategic, in the aviation and space arenas.”
The conference will be held Nov. 15 in Jerusalem, and speakers will include: Brig. Gen. Eytan Eshel, head of Research and Development at Israel’s Ministry of Defense, who will address current trends in the development of effective responses to ballistic threats confronting Israel; Brig. Gen Doron Gavish, commander of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Antiaircraft Forces, who will address air defenses against missiles; and Zohar Gefen, head of the Passenger Security Branch, Security Division, Ben-Gurion Airport, who will address the range of airport passenger security measures.
Other main topics will include civil aviation, air and space technologies, air defense, and active defense. Additionally, the conference will give out a special award for a significant technological advance in air defense.
The conference is held under the auspices of the President of the State of Israel, Prime Minister, and the Minister of Defense. It is organized by Technologies Group, an information provider of current technology-oriented contents to professionals and experts in a variety of domains, local marketers, and engineers in the Israeli electronics industry.
