The Navy has ordered 100 Packbots in a $21 million dollar contract that includes spare parts, manufacturer iRobot [IRBT] said yesterday.
The Man Transportable Robotic Systems Packbots are used to help clear mines and other explosives and have been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.
iRobot said the latest order added to the company’s profile, and provides greater stability on the stock market heading into next year.
Also, iRobot has recently received orders from the Army.
