Iran developed an unmanned aerial vehicle with a 600-mile range that can reach Israel, RIA Novosti reported, citing the Fars Iranian news agency.

Ahmad Vahidi, Iranian deputy defense minister, termed the development “an important achievement,” while declining to disclose details of the UAV.

What is unclear is the payload that the UAV could carry.

Iran has a nuclear materials production program, with sufficient material now to build a nuclear weapon. Military analysts predict Iran will have enough material by the end of the year to make several atomic bombs.
