Boeing [BA] subsidiary Insitu said yesterday it has reached an agreement to provide its ScanEagle unmanned aircraft system to the Netherlands for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) missions.

The Dutch Defense Ministry plans to use ScanEagle domestically and abroad, Insitu said of the system that has been deployed by the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps for years.

“We’re excited to be part of the Netherlands’ ISR solution for the Ministry of Defense,” Insitu President and CEO Steve Morrow said.

ScanEagle is expected to start taking to the air under the agreement with the Netherlands in the second half of this year, Insitu said. Insitu said it was working with the Netherlands to explore the possibility of providing a next generation unmanned system for ISR.
