The Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Agency (IARPA) has issued a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) seeking innovative research and development proposals for the Biometrics Exploitation Science and Technology Program to significantly advance the state-of-the-art for biometrics technologies. The overarching goals of the program are to significantly advance the Intelligence Community’s ability to achieve high-confidence match performance, even when the features are derived from non-ideal data, and to significantly relax the constraints currently required to acquire high fidelity biometric signatures. Technologies that are not of interest to the program are contact-type biometric technologies such as fingerprint and palm and ideas fro product development or research that would primarily result in incremental, evolutionary improvements to the existing state of practice. The program will consist of three phases over a five year period. Multiple awards are expected in the first phase. Sol. No. IARPA-BAA-09-02. Respond by May 5.
