Bob Simmons, the longtime Republican staff director for the House Armed Services Committee (HASC), plans to leave Capitol Hill to join the private sector, the GOP-led panel announced May 1.
Simmons will be replaced by Jenness Simler, the panel’s deputy Republican staff director. Simler has worked for the committee since 2005, first as a professional staff member and later as policy director.
