General Dynamics [GD] Aug. 7 said it has elected former Marine Corps General James Mattis to its board of directors effective immediately.
Mattis, 62, most recently served as commander of United States Central Command from Aug. 2010 until March 2013. Prior to that, he was commander of U.S. Joint Forces Command.
“Jim Mattis is a visionary and an inspiring leader who is renowned for his wisdom, courage and integrity,” Phebe Novakovic, chairman and CEO of GD, said in a statement.
