General Dynamics [GD] on Friday said it has completed its purchase of federal healthcare information technology (IT) company Vangent, for $960 million from the private equity firm Veritas Capital.
GD expects the acquisition to be accretive to its earnings in 2012.
GD said Vangent would make it a Tier I player in the federal healthcare IT market. Vangent operates the beneficiary contact center for the Department of Health and Human Services. Other customers include the Departments of Commerce, Education, Justice, Labor, State, Veterans Affairs and Military Health Systems.
