General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) on Tuesday announced the addition of Sentient Vision Systems to Team Reaper Australia, GA-ASI’s bid for the Royal Australian Air Force’s (RAAF) Project AIR 7003.

The competition seeks to provide an Armed Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) System for the Australian Defence Force.

GA-ASI is competing with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) for the RAAF contract, which is expected to be worth between $1 billion and $2 billion over two decades.

“General Atomics recognizes the importance of having a robust team of Australian industry partners to support the Air 7003 requirements,” Linden Blue, CEO of GA-ASI, said. “We continue to be committed to partnerships with Australian industry, and to providing a capable, affordable RPA system to the Australian Defence Force.”
