The European Aeronautic Defence and Space Co. recently said its board of directors has appointed Guillaume Faury to become the new CEO of its Eurocopter division beginning May 1.
Faury, 45, will succeed Lutz Bertling, who submitted his resignation effective April 30 to pursue another professional opportunity in Germany outside of aerospace. Bertling, 50, has run Eurocopter since November 2006.
Faury joint Eurocopter from automobile designer and manufacturer Peugeot S.A., where he has served as executive vice president for Research and Development since 2010 and a member of the managing board since 2009. Before joining Peugeot, Faury worked at Eurocopter in various senior management positions between 1998 and 2008, including as chief engineer on the EC225/725 helicopter program.
