DynCorp International and Sierra Nevada Corp. (SNC) yesterday said they have established a strategic alliance to provide mission critical services to customers worldwide.

The companies are jointly establishing a Fixed-Wing Center of Excellence in Huntsville, Ala., where they hope to provide services to the Army’s Program Manager for Fixed Wing Aircraft. Services will include maintenance, repair, overhaul, modifications, integration and installation.

The new center will also seek commercial and international business for fixed-wing aircraft, unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) systems.

“Both SNC and DynCorp International bring significant and highly complementary skill sets in the UAS and ISR markets,” Tim Owings, corporate vice president for SNC’s Integrated Mission Systems business area, said in a statement. “Collectively, the alliance will allow us to continue to provide superior mission critical services to our existing customers, and attract future customers.”
